There are tons of stories that needs to be told. The reason why they need to be told may vary. It may be because they contain a beauty that would enrich people's lives if they knew about it. It may be because of injustice or discrimination that must be exposed to stop it or it may simply be because something or someone is about to disappear and the details and memory should be preserved before it is too late.

The challenge is not only to find an interesting and creative way to tell these stories. The challenge is also to discover the stories and to gather enough background information to be able to tell them in an effective trustworthy manner.

Being a one man band I don't have tons of research assistants and I don't have unlimited amount of time at my disposal. The number of stories that I am able to identify and evaluate all by myself are very limited and I therefore rely on input from others.

In order to be interesting the story must be something a little bit out of the ordinary.In order to be interesting the story must be something a little bit out of the ordinary. Something you don't see every day or something that you believe would enrich people to know about. It could be how your neighbors live with 16 kids, no television and grow all their food themselves. It could be the refugee family that despite appalling conditions keep up the spirit and initiative trying to create a new life for themselves. It could be environmental activists squatting in old houses to protect them from urban development or it could be your grandfathers collection of 5432 bottle ships. The possibilities are endless and there are no fixed recipe.
